League's Rules for the Conduct of Meetings

Name	01	This League shall be known as the Leamington and District Chess League
Objectives	02	The objectives of the League shall be: -- to arrange chess competitions between clubs or teams in membership of the League; to organize an individual championship for affiliated members; to promote an interest in chess throughout the district.
Committee	03	A Committee consisting of the League’s officers shall control the business of the League
Officers	04	The League's honorary officers shall be the Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Fixtures Secretary and Competitions Secretary, BCF Delegate, Grader and Vice Presidents, and any other post that the AGM may approve from time to time as part of its normal business. All officers shall be affiliated League players and shall be elected annually at the AGM. Retiring officers shall be eligible for re-election. If a vacancy occurs mid-season the Committee may co-opt a replacement.
Membership	05	Membership shall be open to clubs or teams whose application for membership shall be approved by the AGM
Annual General Meeting	06	The annual general meeting of the League shall be held in the month of May or at such other times as the Committee may decide. Each club secretary shall be given a minimum of one calendar month's written notice of the date of the meeting. It shall be open to all affiliated League players.
Extraordinary General Meeting	07	An extraordinary general meeting of the League may be convened either by the Committee or at the request of the Committees of not less than three clubs in membership of the League.
Alterations to Constitution and Rules of Match Play	08	The League Constitution and Rules of Match Play apply to all competitions organized by the League and may only be altered at a general meeting of the League. Notice of any proposed alterations must be received by the Secretary before the end of March.
Accounts	09	The accounts of the League shall be closed at the end of March and copies of the income and expenditure and balance sheet shall be made available before the commencement of the AGM.
Independent examiner	10	An honorary independent examiner, to be appointed at the AGM, shall examine the accounts of the League. The examiner will be required to confirm that the accounts conform to the financial records.
Fees	11	The AGM shall decide the team and individual subscriptions and registration fees to be paid in the ensuing season. All such fees shall be paid to the Treasurer before 31st December. The AGM shall also authorise the affiliation fee to be paid to the Warwickshire Chess Association, BCF, and any other appropriate chess organizations to which the League may wish to be affiliated.
Voting	12	At Committee meetings each officer shall have one vote. At general meetings voting shall be limited to one delegate per club team entered in the League in the previous season. In the event of an equal number of votes being cast for and against any motion the Chairman shall have a casting vote.
Quorum	13	At all general meetings of the League at least one third of the club teams entitled to vote shall be represented to form a quorum. At Committee meetings a quorum shall consist of three officers.
